CHAMPION BLOOM
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. May 8. Mr L. Clark, of Christchurch, exhibited the champion of champions bloom at the South Island chrysanthemum show in Greymouth yesterday. The bloom “Pink Monica,” won the award for the best j large exhibition chrysanthemum, and the best pink large exhibition. Mr Clark also won awards in the large red exhibition section with Red Amethyst, the large white exhibition with Jessie Habgood, the large yellow exhibition with Fred Taylor, and large exhibition (any colour) with St Edmonsbury. The in-curving exhibition award went to Jonqil, exhibited by F. G. and C. N. Weakley, who also wont the reflex decorative section with Apricot Lady and the intermediate decorative with Regency. The blue ribbon award of the West Coast Horticultural Society to local exhibitors was won by Mr R. Bell, who also gained two other special awards. Mr J. McDonald, also of Greymouth, gained a special award. Entries came from Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Oamaru and as far away as Mangakino.
