Charlton In Top Form CIV.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright.) LONDON. England beat Wales, 2-1 after trailing 0-1 at half-time in their British soccer championship match yesterday. R. Davies scored for Wales and R. Charlton and F. Lee for England. Charlton made nonsense of recent suggestions that he was nearing the end of his career by producing one of his greatest displays. Just when it seemed England would never find the way to goal, Charlton scored with thrilling brilliance in the 57th minute to equalise the eighteenth-minute goal scored by Davies. Charlton also hit the bar and a post in other thundering scoring attempts. The England winner came in the 74th minute when Lee fired the ball into the net after a header from J. Astle had been stopped on the line. England nows leads the championship by one point from Scotland and the two teams meet in the title decider tomorrow. The present table is:
