The high standard of entries received for the first national junior hird-court championships at Auckland. later this month have delighted New Zealand tennis officials; The tournaments follows the Slaxenger and Howe Shield finals, which start on Saturday, May 18, and has drawn an entry of 36 in the
boys' singles and 38 in the girls’ event. With the exception of Miss M. Pryde (Wellington) and J. G-. Simpson (North Shore) who is in West Germany with the Davis Cup team, all the members of thls year’s Wilson and Llntbn Cup teams have entered.; ft 18 also thfc firat time for many yean that the girls’ singles have attracted greater numbers than the boy4 r eveht.
