Spectacle Hints
(By NORMAN HARTNELL) LONDON. If you wear glasses, have you even taken the trouble to make sure that they enhance your beauty instead of destroying it? Huge, circular frames make every woman look startled. Upswept comers on glasses can give a permanently vicious expression, and horn rims are fine for secretaries in the daytime, but much too severe for parties. One solution is a wardrobe of spectacles, but a more practical one is an “all-purpose” frame, for example, an oblong shape in an opalescent but muted mixed colour.
I tried this shape of frame on three model girls and the same shaped frame suited them all.
Do not forget eye make-up. It is very important to spectacle wearers. Some cosmetic houses run special sessions of instruction in the eye make-up art for girls in glasses.
