Demolition Of Gas Works
Tenders have been called by the Lyttelton Borough Council for the demolition of the'Lyttelton Gas Works, an empty brick building on Gladstone Quay, idle since March 31 last year when the gas supply ceased.. The building was erected in 1876 and was taken over by the council in 1902. Much of the equipment in the building has been salvaged and sold by the council.
