Equal Pay Award
Indigenous female public servants in Papua-New Guinea will receive equal pay for equal work from July 1. The Minister for External Territories (Mr C. E. Barnes) announced today that the Australian Government had agreed that local female officers “doing the same work as, or very similar work to, males, and the same range and volume of work as males and under the same conditions” should be paid equally. —Port Moresby, May 5.
