Folded Wings dub Assists Children

Members of the Folded Wings Club for former air stewardesses have undertaken to help the Disturbed Children’s Movement this year.

The club originated in Auckland and a branch was started in Christchurch a year ago. Besides barbecues, wine

and cheese parties ,and other social functions and outings, members have given clothes

to needy families and charitable organisations, and gave money to Cholmondeley Home at Governor’s Bay. Members come from as far as Ashburton to meet other former air stewardesses. The present membership of the branch is thirty-eight.

Officers elected at the first annual meeting recently were: President, Mrs L. A. Newton; vice-president, Mrs M. MeFredries; secretary, Mrs P. Stewart; treasurer, Mrs M. Hazeldine; committee, Mesdames P. Wighton, T. Laurenson, B. McNaughton and B. Hosle.
