$4OO Raised For Wing The Friends of Princess Margaret Hospital plan to give $4OO towards furnishings for the proposed new geriatric wing. The president (Mrs L. J. Oliver) in the annual report said an order had been placed for two geriatric chairs, and It was hoped they would soon be in use in the hospital. Others gifts during the year incidued games suitable for the bedridden, and Christmas presents for all patients.' The chapel fund was sub-! stantial and continued to grow, said Mrs Oliver. “From the beginning, our: work has included a number: of direct services to the hos-j pital. such as the creche,: knitted goods, sewing and* floral arrangements, but time and changed circumstances: have reduced these direct 1 services to floral work, and a small amount of sewing and | knitting. “This need not, however, result in reduced activity by the group, but simply a change of direction. We may continue our knitting and sewing to supply goods for the annual stall and the money earned can provide the direct services to the hospital, perhaps in a more substantial form,” she said. A scheme was approved which would allow the public to support the group financially. without being involved in its meetings or activities. It would mean an annual subscription of SI, payable up to five years in advance. These supporters would be known as subscribing members.
