April 29 Mr Alexander Dubcek, the reformist ousted from the leadership of the Czechoslovak Communist Party earlier i this month, was today elected (Chairman of the Federal | Assembly (Parliament). Mr Dubcek, who lost his party leadership to the i authoritarian, Dr Gustav Husak, replaces Professor Petr Colotka in the Parliamentary post, which is one of the three top positions in Czechoslovakia. Mr Dubcek was elected by secret ballot at a joint meeting of the Assembly’s two Chambers, the Chamber of the People and the Chamber of Nations. The over-all vote was 306 for and 68 against. There were seven abstentions.
