Disappointing Love-life

(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) LONDON, April 29. The love-life of the giant pandas, or the lack of it, continues to exasperate the staff of the London Zoo, It is now eight months since “An-An,” the male panda, arrived from Moscow amid a great deal of hullabaloo to be mated with “ChiChi” in Regent's Park.

But there is still nd sign of a romantic attachment. They have shared food—bamboo and birch leaf, exercised together, and slept in the same area, but as far as romance is concerned, they might well be miles apart. The only consolation for the zoo authorities is the number of people who come to see the Russian panda. He is still the star attraction for visitors, if not for “Chi-Chi.”
