Stuck In Mud
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, March 19.
One of the two amphibious rescue vehicles at Auckland Airport was bogged down for four hours in soft mud in the Manukau Harbour. It had to wait for the tide to float it out.
The Regional Superintendent of the Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Transport (Mr A- Holdsworth) said today: “We knew we would have this problem but we did not know its extent. “We are in the process of finding out so that we can map the areas where the vehicles will not go.”
