SYDNEY

Mining stocks were a shade firmer on the Sydney Stock Exchange, whereas oil stocks weakened again with tails outnumbering rises in the ratio of three to one. Woodside lost Tuesday's gain to finish at 210 c. Industrials finished the day on a steady note. 8.H.P., after easing to 1700 c. recovered to close at 1720 c. Thiess rose 10c to 375 c. Slater Walker gained 10c to 910 c.
