Two Chief Executives For Hay’s-W.S. Chain
Mr W. G. W. Rix, the managing director of Hay’s, Ltd, and Mr G. R. Lawn, retail director of Wright Stephenson and Company, Ltd, will become joint managing directors when the merger of Hay’s and the retail division of Wright Stephenson becomes effective on August 1.
The appointments were announced yesterday by Sir Clifford Plimmer, the Wright, Stephenson chairman, and Mr S. E. Mair, the chairman of Hay’s. Mr H. G. Hay and Mr L. E. Scott, at present directors of Hay’s, will continue as members of the board of Hay’sWright Stephenson, Mr Hay
as deputy managing director and Mr Scott as executive director. As previously announced, Mr Hay will join the board of Wright Stephenson from the date of the merger. The head office of the enlarged company, together with its central buying division, will be in Christchurch.
