Truck’s Brakes Fail
The brakes on a loaded shingle truck failed on one of Lyttelton’s steepest roads shortly after midday yesterday while the driver was backing the truck.
The truck knocked down a corrugated iron fence and stopped near a 20ft bank in Bridle Path Road. The driver was not hurt. The truck is owned by Rhind’s Transport (Lyttelton), Ltd.
