NEW POSTAL COMPLEX
Talks Next Month
The Postmaster - General (Mr Scott) will visit Christchurch on April 15 to discuss plans for a new Chief Post Office.
A committee of Christchurch businessmen has been trying since July, 1967, to get Mr Scott to come to Christchurch to give firm details about the plans. The chairman of the postal committee of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce (Mr J. Stewart) said yesterday he felt a little more optimistic about getting a new postal complex in Christchurch. Mr Scott will meet the businessmen’s committee, comprising representatives of the chamber, the Manufacturers’ Association, local bodies, employers and retailers during the afternoon of April 15.
