SHOOTING ACCIDENT
(N.Z. Preu Association) WANGANUL Feb. 24. A 7-year-old boy died after a shooting accident in a Castlecliff home late this afternon. He was Paul William Osman, of Matai Street, Wanganui. Detective Senior Sergeant C. R. Cotterrell said tonight that police were treating the Incident as an accident. It appeared that one of a group of children had gained possession of a .22 calibre rifle. One of the children was showing the group how to load and unload the rifle when it discharged, the bullet striking Osman in the chest He was dead when the doctor arrived at the home.
