Cinema To Close
One of Christchurch's suburban cinemas will close soon and another may close soon after. The Vogue theatre in Barrington Street has been sold by Suburban Cinemas, Ltd, to a grocery firm, and Independent Cinemas, Ltd. owners of the Ham theatre in Ham Road, are in the process of winding up. A meeting of creditors will be held on Wednesday to decide the future of the company and to appoint a liquidator.
Mr R. C. Timms has been nominated as liquidator by the company.
