Thai Election Marred
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BANGKOK, February 10. Communist terrorists killed one official and wounded two others today in scattered outburst of election-day violence in Thailand. The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior (Mr Puang Suwannarath) said the most serious incident so far in the country’s first national election for 10 years, occurred in the north-east province of Kalasin, 350 miles from Bangkok, where 12 terrorists ambushed a vehicle carrying election officials to a polling booth. A tally clerk was killed and a policeman was wounded. Seven other passengers of the vehicle escaped. In southern Thailand, 10 terrorists wounded an official at a polling booth.
