, Sir, —Householders do not ,! foul their own air by burning . dirty fuels: their air, homes, . furniture and drapes are made filthy because of the [ dirty coal other people are I burning. Perhaps people who have lived in Christchurch ; all their lives know nothing I [better but to those forced to . live in this city the situation , regarding dirty coal is just : completely disgraceful. Inside painted and papered walls are covered with a layer of ) dirt in only a few months be- ■ [ cause next-door neighbours , who do not care have filthy coal burning day and night. . especially through the winter, . blasting its full dirt on to , other people’s homes.—Yours, ) DOWN WITH DIRTY COAL.
