BETHEL WINS AT GREYMOVTH

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. Bethel and Dutch Courage won the T.A.B. double at the Greymouth Trotting Club’s meeting last night. They returned a double dividend of $18.95 for $1 and the concession with Bragen paid $30.20. The on-course double. Global Hall and Just Hope, paid $8.20 and the concession with Double Scot returned $6. Raphael was the early leader in the Westland Handicap, the first leg. with Sonetto. Ginge. Regal Hanover, and Zan Star following closely. Bethel took charge at the end of the next round from Regal Hanover on the outside of Raphael, Then came Zan Star, All Adorian, Nonnie Hanover, and Sonetto. ■» There was little change in this order for the next lap and Bethel was first to turn for home. He staved off a strong challenge from All Adorian to win by half a length. Raphael was a length and a half back, with a similar distance to Regal Hanover. The next to finish were Zan Star, Hal View. Nonnie Hanover, and Caviare. The T.A.B. handled $111,430 on the meeting (win and place $40,652: and doubles $70,778). The off-course total was down $14,086 on the corresponding meeting last year. On-course the totalisator. handled $27,812 an increase of $17,925. No off-course substitue was required.
