Wool Tenderness 'Threatens Crisis ’
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 18. Tenderness in New Zealand wool threatened a major crisis in the early future, one of the biggest woolbuyers in New Zealand said today. Mr J. L. Bouckoms, managing director of Kreglinger N.Z., Ltd, said that the spread of tenderness throughout the New Zealand clip-was creating great concern among buyers. “This extremely serious
problem, if not remedied urgently, will become the bugbear for the future of the New Zealand clip,” he said. “This increase in tenderness in the staple of the wool, which causes the fibres to break, is said to be caused mostly by overstocking. But whatever the reason it should be investigated urgently. “We do not want the New Zealand clip to become something which is not wanted overseas.”
