CHRISTMAS NEAR MOON
If the Apollo 8 lunar orbital flight proceeds according to plan, the three United States astronauts will spend Christmas near the moon, but will be back on earth shortly before New Year. As now planned, the three: astronauts will be launched at 7.45 a.m. Cape Kennedy | time (12.45 p.m. G.M.T.) on Decembet 21. They will arrive near the moon and enter moon orbit on the evening of December 23 (Cape Kennedy time), and they will remain in orbit until late in the; afternoon of December 24 when they will begin the re-! turn trip. They will arrive back on earth on December 27 or 28.
