Hughes) shaded Unpainted (Peake) after they had dashed over five furlongs in imin 1 3-ssec. They picked up speed quickly after a slow start and ran the last four in 48 4-ssec. Unpainted has made such progress that she might be close to her best again for the holidays. Castle Dee (Blake.) did well when be led Proud Chief (McKee) by four lengths over a mile in Imin 45 3-ssec, the last five furlongs with Oreti Mary (Norman).
