MARKET FIRM IN HEAVY TRADING
The New Zealand share market moved further ahead yesterday. Rises outnumbered falls three to two, and turnovers were the highest for almost six weeks. Most of the generally small movements were by secondline stocks; leaders were slightly easier on balance.
C.F.M. continued to widen the gap between the market price and the Waitaki bid price: the shares lost sc, to 207 c. This is 8c lower than the price C.F.M. shares brought before Waitaki made the formal announcement. M. O’Brien gained 6c, to
46c. The annua! meeting of the company will be held on Friday. 1.C.1.N.Z. rose another 2c, to 210 c. The shares have risen i 17c since the profit announce- ' ment early last week. Insurances were firm: New Zealand rose 4c to 407 c.
