PIGEON SETS RECORD
(N.Z. Press Assoctetton) DUNEDIN, Dec. 15. A world record wag get by the Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club during the week-end in a race from Te Araroa, East Cape. The winning bird flew the 700 miles in 15 hours 53 minutes. The birds were liberated at 4.55 A.ni. in favourable conditions. Seven birds reached their lofts on the day of liberation, compared with three in 1939, when the previous world record of 16 hours 20 minutes was set. The winning bird was R. Brooks's Skylight.
