C.F.M. Loses 18c On Active Exchange
The share-market firmed on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday, in generally small movement. The Christchurch turnover was high, but trading activity in other centres was below average. The range of issues was narrow.
C.F.M. shares fell 18c, to 212 c, as the market attempted to place a realistic value on the worth of the Waitaki bid. Other sharp falls were rehorded by Cropper-N.R.M., 15c lower to 375 c, Skellerup. which lost 10c of recent gains, and New; Zealand Steel, marked down 9c to 128 c. New Zealand Steel rights were selling at 28c. Alliance notes sold 8c lower, at 57c. Leaders were firm on balance, but movements were small. A. B. Consolidated ,at 46c ex dividend, and Lane, Walker, Rudkin, at 178 c, gained 1c 1.C.1.N.Z. put on 3c, to sell at 208 c.
