SHARING OF RESERVES
Proposal To Council
A suggestion by the Christchurch Young Men’s Christian Association that a joint committee of interested parties should be formed to plan the sharing of recreation reserves in newly-developing areas was reported to the Waimairi County Council last night by the chairman (Mr D. B. Rich). Mr Rich said the association suggested that such groups as the Young Women’s Christian Association, the Education Department, the Y.M.C.A., the National Council of Churches, the Play Centre and Kindergarten associations and other parties would have interests in com-) mon. The proposed committee) would be another step towards! the goal of adequate planning for community facilities, said Mr Rich. Mr Rich and Cr I. Calvert were appointed to represent the council.
