Activity In Zone
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SAIGON, Dec. 16. Reconnaissance has disclosed 805 indications of Communist activity in the Demilitarised Zone since the bombing of North Vietnam was halted on November 1, almost double the number two weeks ago, the United States Command said today. A spokesman said that in response to at least 243 of the indications, American bombers, artillery and navy warships had opened fire on the Communists, including three times on Saturday. Only 42 of the “indications of Communist activity or presence in the Demilitarised Zone” were labelled "significant” by the United States Command.
