OVERSEAS CALLS
Time Still Available
Telephone calls from New Zealand during the Christmas holidays had been booked for such places as the Falkland Islands, Angola, Lichtenstein, Peru, Barbados and Jugoslavia, the Chief Postmaster (Mr M. E. Wilson) said yesterday. The greatest number of calls—l24o had been booked to Britain and beyond with 706 calls to Australia and beyond and 294 to Canada and the United States. Mr Wilson said that Christmas Day and Boxing Day were heavily booked for calls to Britain but there was plenty of time available on other days. Time to most Australian states was booked for most of Christmas Day but calls could still be made early and late on that day and-gt most times on other days. ♦, Bookings for North America were the heaviest on Boxing Day but spare time was still available. Numerous calls had also been booked for Fiji and Rarotonga.
