Summer Magic Lame
••The Press'* Special Service DUNEDIN. Summer Magic, top-weight in the Tapanui Handicap on Satur* day was checked in the back stretch and was lame in the off front leg when he returned to the birdcage. His part-owner, trainer E. A. Winsloe said that the Summertime fsix-year-old could be at the end of a successful racing career, but he appeared to be >ound when loaded in the float for the return trip home, and it is possible he may yet make the Wellington Cup meeting. Summer Magic has been mated with a number of mares this season and when his racing days are over wil be retired to the stud on a property at Gore recently purchased by Mr Winsloe.
