INNS OF COURT
6th Winner In Family Inns of Court improved an outstanding family record when she beat 18 rivals hands down in the Trial Plate No. 1 at Biccarton on Saturday. Mr A. N. Smith’s three-year-old filly, a daughter of Test Case and the distinguished race and brood mare. Hush Money, is the sixth winner of her dam’s six foals which have raced. Inns of Court, like Hush Money and all her progeny, is trained at Riccarton by J. C. Tomkinson. Early next year Tomkinson will begin educating another member of this high-class family. When Inns of Court is offered for sale at Trentham next month her place in the stable will be taken by a yearling colt by Test Case from Hush Money. On Saturday, G. W. Mein had Inns of Court well positioned throughout the Trial Stakes No. 1 but she did not appear to make much progress until he brought her away from the fence inside the last furlong. Once clear she made rapid progresss and won going away by a length and a half from Daytime. which beat the pacemaker, Angel, by three-quarters of a length.
