Bravery Award
A 25-year-old Wellington salesman, Mr David Palmer, will receive an award for bravery from the Lord Mayor of London. A year ago Mr Palmer tried to stop two men who snatched a girl’s handbag in Oxford Street: “I was smashed in the face with a bottle and ended up in hospital,” he said. ‘‘l have had three operations so far this year for skin grafts and the removal of bits of bone.” (Staff Correspondent P.A.)
