SHIELD TE AM PROTEST
Conflicting Reports <N.g. ! Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. The management committee of the Central Districts Cricket Association met in Palmerston North on Saturday night, and one of their main topics was the selection of the Plunket Shield team. A letter ot protest from the Nelson Cricket Association concerning the method of selection was heard in committee. However, the announcement of the team for the first three games of the coining series also came under discussion. Many felt that there was some confusion arising from conflicting reports in the press concerning this. It was resolved to advise all players that while some confusion may have arisen through the conflicting published statements as to the composition of the side, the team announced will be the eleven for the flr|t three matches, unless there are any extraordinary circumstances that warrant alterations. The team for other matches will be announced later.
