FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A shallow depression continues to drift slowly towards northern New Zealand; the anticyclone to the south-east of the country is slowly losing intensity. Forecast: Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson.— Fresh east or north-east winds; cloudy and mild; some scattered showers developing about and near the high country. Buller and Westland. —Moderate variable winds tending south-west by afternoon; fine and warm. Outlook: cloudy with scattered showers mostly, but mainly fine in Buller and Westland.
