Mr R. J. Polaschek, secretary of the Department of Civil Aviation and Acting Secretary for Transport, has been appointed Secretary for Transport in the new Minitry of Transport, the State Services Commission announced yesterday.—(P.A.). Mr H. M. G. Daniel, the Australian Government Trade Commissioner in the South Island will, about April, be posted to the oil-refining island of Bahrein, in the Persian Gulf. He has been in his present post in Christchurch for about a year. The name of his replacement in Christchurch has not yet been announced. In Bahrein he will be the Australian Government Trade Commissioner.
