Amalgamation In Britain
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, j All horse racing in Britain' will come under one ruling body as a result of an amalgamation announced on Thursday between the Jockey Club (re--sponsible for flat racing) and the National Hunt Committee; < jumping). The new body, which is to be. called the Jockey Club (in-! corporating the National Hunt Committee), will generally be known as the Jockey Club. It will take over control on Jan-! uary 1, 1969. and the senior i seward will be Major-General Sir Randle Fielden. The amalgamation should make for a greater flexibility in deciding the make-up of the fixture list and arriving at a balance between flat racing and steeplechasing seasons when these overlap.
