Maranui Report
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 13. The report of the official inquiry into the sinking of the coaster Maranui would not reach the Minister of Marine (Mr Scott) before Christinas, a spokesman for the Minister’s office said today. The Maranui sank off the Coromandel Peninsula on June 13 with the loss of nine lives, while carrying a cargo of wheat between Lyttelton and Auckland. The inquiry was presided over by Mr A. A. Coates, S.M., in Auckland.
