Two Months Gaol

Maxwell Carlton Carney, aged 46, unemployed (Mr R. F. Powell), was sentenced to two months imprisonment and disqualified for a year by Mr Justice Wilson in the Supreme Court yesterday after Carney had changed his plea to guilty. Carney was charged that on July 30 he drove while disqualified in Strickland Street. Mr N. W. Williamson appeared for the Crown. His Honour said since Carney’s prohibition he had driven three times and on each previous occasion he had been sentenced to one month’s imprisonment
