Obituary MR J. FLOOD

Mr John Flood, who died at Gisborne recently, aged 90, once played a prominent part in Lyttelton’s industrial and political life. For many years he was secretary of the Lyttelton Watersiders’ Union and later he was its president, an office which he held when he left Lyttelton in 1951. He also became secretary and later president of the National Watersiders’ Union as it was then known. He was an executive member of the Labour Party and of the Federation of Labour and the Labour Representation Committee.
