Scientific Photographers

A course in scientific photography held in Christchurch last week is being repeated because of an overwhelming response in enrolments, according to the course chairman (Mr E. R. Mangin). The course, designed for up to 20 scientific photographers, is being organised by the extension studies department of the University of Canterbury, together with the University Photographic Services Committee and the Institute of Science Technicians. Forty-four enrolments were received from all over New Zealand. Technicians at-

tended from various divisions of the D.5.1.R., hospitals, the Electricity Department, the Air Force and many university departments. Tutors involved in the course, the first of its kind, are Mr K. Donaldson, chief photographer at Christchurch Hospital, and Messrs M. Dukes, F. E. McGregor, E. R. Mangin, C. L. Miles, and D. V. Sims, all of Canterbury University. The photograph shows some of the 23 photographers who attended the course in the physics department, University of Canterbury.
