Wool Prices Compared
Between the Christchurch wool sale early last month and the sale last week prices dropped about 10) per cent. The average for last week’s sale was 33.8959 c per lb, about 4c lower than the average a month earlier. However, the average price was still almost 4c per lb, or 13 J per cent better than at the December sale in Christchurch last year, when the average was 29.9568 c per lb. At last week’s sale 28,974 bales containing 9,613,2651 b of wool brought $3,258,507.97 The average price a bale was $112.46; compared with $123.15 in November and $99.54 a year ago
