ORCHARD DAMAGE
Growers May Seek Aid (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Nov. 12. Damage to Central Otago fruit crops by late spring frosts has led to the establishment of a Fruitgrowers’ Investigation Committee, which may seek financial aid from the Government for Central Otago orchardists. The Otago branch of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation has set up the preliminary investigation committee of growers to study individual and over-all fruit losses after what is described as “the worst spring in recent memory.” If the damage proves as bad as expected, it could be necessary to ask for the setting-up of a disaster relief committee.
