Meetings Of Creditors
Trying to get too big too quickly, and high costs of repairs to his trucks were reasons given for his bankruptcy by Desmond William Ford, a rubbish removal contractor, of 149 Hampshire Street. Christchurch at a meeting of his creditors before the Official Assignee (Mr J. B. K. Curran), yesterday. His unsecured debts amounted to $2456, and his assets to $156, a total deficiency of $2300. His creditors resolved that any application by Ford for a discharge from bankruptcy be opposed until he had paid 25c in the dollar of his debts: and that he not engage in any business on his own account until then. No Quorum A back injury fox which he is now having treatment, and no work, were the reasons which Thomas Albert Jones, aged 35, an unemployed timber worker, of 1 Balfour Terrace, Christchurch, gave for his bankruptcy. He disclosed unsecured debts -of $537. There was no quorum of creditors, and the meeting was adjourned sine die.
