Support For Fund
The appeal for funds for the Sir George Manning Home for the Aged received support at a recent meeting of the executive committee of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes. More than $3OO was raised for the federation’s property project through the recent “Operation Snowball.” In April each institute was given $1 to increase as much as possible by October. It was decided that the hospitality committee would join with the Canterbury East group in entertaining Mrs J. Bunny, a visitor from Kent, this week.
