BUILDING IN SAIGON
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Nov. 12. The construction of a building for the faculty of sciences at the University of Saigon, towards which New Zealand had contributed, was almost completed, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) told Parliament today. Mr Holyoake had been asked by Mr W. L. Young (Nat., Miramar) about progress on the building. Because of labour and material shortages caused by the Vietnam war, the building had taken longer than expected, Mr Holyoake said. But it was now almost completed. New Zealand’s contribution of $151,500 had been paid to the Vietnamese authorities, I he said.
