Senator Vance Hartke (Democrat, Indiana) has forecast that the President-elect IMr Richard Nixon) will ffer Mr Hubert Humphrey a high post in his administration. "My guess is that it would be the ambassadorship to the United Nations,” ’ Senator Hartke said. The senator won a reputation for political predictions after forecasting in May, 1967, that President Johnson would not seek re-election.
