UNIVERSITY VACANCIES UNIVERSITY APPOINTMENTS UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES FACULTY OF ARTS APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment to the positions listed below. In every case, ap£licants for appointment as ECTURER or SENIOR LECTURER must have a distinguished academic record and be well qualified both for teaching and research. Applicants for appointment as TUTOR must have a good degree, preferably with honours, and be especially interested in teaching. The salary ranges are: Senior lecturer, $A7600 range $A8750 per annum; lecturer, $A5400 range $A7300 per annum; tutor, between $A3150 and $A4275 per annum. Commencing salary will be according to qualifications and experience. Appointments of tutors are for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal on an annual basis. Further details concerning academic aspects of these positions may be obtained from the Head of the School concerned. SCHOOL OF HISTORY TUTOR (three positions): Applicants should have a special interest in the teaching of Australian, Pacific or modern European history. SCHOOL OF POLITICAL SCIENCE

LECTURER: A special interest in recent work in political sociology and/or political psychology would be advantageous. TUTOR: Must be well qualified for teaching in one or more of the major fields of political science. SCHOOL OF SOCIOLOGY SENIOR LECTURER or LECTURER: Applicants must be well qualified for teaching and research in the sociology of medicine. LECTURER: Qualifications in any of the major fields of sociology may be acceptable, but a special interest in family and kinship or race relations would be advantageous.
