Farm Conference For S.I. Bankers
About 40 representatives of banks in the South Island will attend an agricultural conference at Lincoln College on November 19 and 20.

In May of last year the Agricultural Production Council, in co-operation with the New Zealand Bankers; Association, organised an agricultural seminar for key bead office policy executives of trading banks. Encouraged by the success of this, the Bankers' Association suggested that regional seminars be organised along similar lines with the object of informing branch managers of the current trends in farming management, production and marketing. The sponsors of the Lincoln conference, which will not be open tb the press, are the New Zealand Bankers’ Association and the Agricultural Production Council. The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) will be the guest speaker at the seminar dinner, which is the closing function of the meeting Speakers at the seminar, according to the draft programme, will include the general managers of the producer boards, the Governor of the Reserve Bank, Mr A. R. Low, the deputy-secretary of the Treasury, Mr H. G. Lang, the
director of the Farm Advisory Division of the Department of Agriculture, Mr R. H. Scott, the secretary of the Agricultural Production Council, Mr B. Ivory, and the principal of Lincoln College, Dr M. M. Burns.
Representatives of the Department of Agriculture and also Lincoln College will be dealing with technical aspects of farming.
