Queen Visits Sao Paulo
(N.Z P A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAO PAULO (Brazil), Nov. 7. About one million people—-one-sixth of the populationpacked the streets of Brazil’s largest city yesterday to greet Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh when they flew in from Brasilia, the capital, today. It was the biggest reception of the Royal tour so far. Ticker-tape, rose petals and rice rained down on the cortege, in which the Queen rode in a vintage open car.
So great were the crowds in central Sao Paulo that Prince Philip was 25 minutes late for a press conference for Brazilian journalists.
