The British Government will introduce legislation “in due course” to restrict advertising and sales promotion of cigarettes.
Mr Richard Crossman, Secretary of State for Social Services, said this in reply to questions in the House of Commons yesterday, “The Times” has reported. He also promised to consider the printing of warnings on all cigarette packets of the hazard of smoking, a withdrawal of the customs concession on cigarettes, and the possibility of differential taxation.
